Daphne Darling....

Ivory Lace, Blue Crushed Velvet and Rhinestones....her name is Daphne.

Using the Thaxton for our photoshoot was amazing. Everywhere you turn there is something new that catches your eye and truly takes you back in time. I guess you could say almost like a time machine. I am so thankful to be able to use such a timeless place to complete my vision.

Ann and Andy were my models for the Daphne shoot. They were such troopers. It was FREEZING outside and they made it look effortless. The chemistry was totally what I had pictured for this dress. Funky, Retro and Fun!

Thank you to Salon Dacota and Abbie Takes Pictures for all your hard work in making these pictures Rock!

Strike a Pose...

Runways, fashion design, fabrics....those are all things that get my attention. Being artistic can be a curse at times...wanting to do everything under the sun that involves creating. You name it, I would love to try it....cake decorating, cupcake shop, flowers, photography, and every sewing project you can find. I do have to say that I am lucky enough to be doing my number one choice....fashion design.

There is nothing more rewarding that watching your designs come down a runway. No matter how big or small the venue it is just an overwhelming feeling. The Off White Bridal Show was held at the Third Degree Glass factory last weekend. The overall experience was amazing. I have to say the highlight of the day....you guessed it....The fashion show!

I was lucky enough to be able to have 3 of my designs on the runway that day. Elenor, Dalia and Jacquline. The models were full of attitude and a perfect fit for the gowns they wore.

Here are some pictures of the runway....come'on girls....Strike a Pose!

I'm an Indie kinda gal!

When I first found out about the Off White Bridal Show I knew I had to be part of it....what can I say I am just an Indie kinda girl! I have never been one to follow the "norm" when it comes to clothing and style. Growing up I really struggled with fitting in and feeling like I belonged. As I grew up I realized it wasn't something to hide. I am happy in my skin. I am true to myself and the artistic side of me wouldn't be who I am without it.

This show was all about celebrating the "non-traditional". The retro, unique styles that allow us to be One of a Kind. From flowers, photography, and cakes to dresses, hair pieces and jewelry this show really gave its viewers and array of originality for their special day.

A close friend of mine and Amazing Photographer Tyler Burrus came to help me out with the show on Sunday. Like always, she had her camera at her side and was wonderful enough to capture the day for me. Thank you sweet Tyler :)

Here are some wonderful pictures of my booth and items!

Hello Dolly!!

An Education.....great movie....Amazing style! I just love some of the dresses from that movie, so I had to recreate one of my favorites.
Dolly...what can I say about her....the first word that comes to mind is Bold. This dress is not for the soft and elegant. This dress is for those looking to make a statement and what better color to do so with than RED!
From the ruched, crushed chiffon to the bold red flair, this dress is sure to make your wedding a OOAK.

Thank you to sweet Lacey for wearing this gown! Your attitude and style came across so well in these pics. You totally rocked it girl!!
One of the most important things I feel as a designer is creating for all shapes and sizes. Style isn't just for the skinny chicks...we can all look amazing, feel amazing and be amazing! From sizes 0-30....come on girls...show us your style!!
I can't forget the accessories.... I created a fabric flower bouquet as well as a headband flower veil....the perfect touch to any One of a Kind wedding.

Please welome.....DOLLY!

Introducing "Dalia"

Dalia….means flower……

When I first started designing this dress, I wanted to make the flowers on the skirt and shoulder strap the focal point of this gown. I made several changes from the beginning to the end, but all and all I am in love with Dalia.

Made from Milan Dutchess Satin this dress says elegance from the very first touch. The bodice is form fitted, highlighting the natural curvature of the woman’s body. The fit and flair skirt adds the perfect amount of fullness to this one of a kind creation.

Using the Thaxton as our venue really sent us back in time and captured the essence of Vintage Glam.

Sarah was the model for Dalia. From her golden locks to her striking features, she really transformed Dalia into the old Hollywood look I was trying to create.

I am so happy to introduce "Dalia"

Introducing...... "Elenor"

Preparing designs for a photo shoot can be such a difficult thing to do. I am sure the obvious reason would be coming up with designs....my problem on the other hand, is narrowing them down. I have so many ideas running threw my head(mainly when I am supposed to be sleeping) it is hard to choose a handful to create. If I only had unlimited resources it would be so much easier... or would it? I would like to think so anyway :)

One of the first creations that I have been wanting to bring to life is "Elenor". She is your classic, elegant 20's inspired Gown. Flowing tiered skirt, flared top and hand created flowers are only the beginning to this beauty. She is exactly as I pictured her.

I have to be honest and say that when Rebecca stepped foot in the dress it gave me chills. She was the PERFECT model for this gown...for any gown perhaps. She not only is a natural at posing, but her beauty is so natural as well. She completely embodied the essence of what I was looking for. I even came to tears at one point of the photo shoot. I cannot put into words what it feels like to have something you have envisioned come to life before you eyes. It means so much to me. I truly feel blessed!

A designer can create something but the vision truly isn't complete without the perfect photographer. I have to say hands down that Abbie is one of the most talented photographers I have ever worked with. Not only am I lucky enough to have her help with my photo shoots, but I have her friendship as well. I find myself asking the same question over and over...
"How lucky can one gal be"

Whether this is luck or determination, it doesn't really matter at this point. I am just happy and blessed to have this opportunity. Thank you to all the wonderful people who help make the photo shoot AMAZING! Trish and Jesse from Salon Dakota for their wonderful hair and makeup creations, Abbie & Tyler for the breathtaking pictures and my models for working so hard and making my dreams come to life.

Check back all week as I introduce the new line of Vintage Vixin Bridalwear and their models!

Now without further ado....introducing "Elenor"
